This policy explains what information Decode Computing collects, how locally-stored data is used, and how third-party advertising works on this site. Decode Computing does not require an account, and does not ask for your name, email, or any personal details to use the notes, question banks, quizzes, or test features.
Quiz scores, test attempt history, and your dark/light theme preference are saved using your browser's local storage, not on a remote server. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to Decode Computing, and is cleared if you clear your browser's site data. No account or login is used or offered.
Decode Computing is supported by display advertising. When advertising is active on this site, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor's visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Topic pages link out to external resources (videos, articles) that are hosted elsewhere and are not controlled by Decode Computing. Downloadable notes and question sets are hosted on Google Drive; Google's own privacy policy applies to files accessed there.
Decode Computing does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The site is intended for students revising computer science coursework and does not require registration of any kind.
